Hakishon
Typical inner courtyard in the southern area of the city, Hakishon Street
Hakishon Street is part of the Florentine neighborhood established by Shlomo Florentine, a contractor from Salonica, during the 20's in the southern area of Tel Aviv. Towards the 60's many workshops concentrated in the neighborhood and in the 90's the low rent in the area attracted many youngsters and artists, who moved to the area. Many entrepreneurs later opened cafes, clubs and galleries in the neighborhood, which turned the neighborhood into a popular area.
